Neptunus temporary exhibition site at Harrogate Autumn Flower Show
Northampton, September 20th, 2021: Neptunus created a temporary exhibition site in the spectacular gardens of Newby Hall in North Yorkshire for tens of thousands of visitors attending the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show. Neptunus are contracted to supply temporary structures to both Harrogate Spring Flower Show and the Autumn event which are staged by the North of England Horticultural Society (NEHS), and widely regarded as the UK’s biggest and most prestigious independent garden shows.
Ben Keast, Managing Director of Neptunus, said: “We have a long association with the NEHS who are one of our oldest and very cherished clients. Indeed, their Spring Show this year was the first event Neptunus supported in the UK following the easing of pandemic restrictions. We were delighted to create a new show site with a new layout for their Autumn edition in such a beautiful setting as Newby Hall.”
Newby Hall is a Georgian stately home situated in 25 acres of award-winning gardens at Skelton-on-Ure near Ripon. The location is a highly popular visitor attraction for all the family and incorporates a children’s adventure garden.
Neptunus supplied a total of 27 temporary structures covering over 6,000 square metres including a giant Alu Hall which formed ‘The Grand Floral Pavilion’. Structures also provided space to support a plant nursery pavilion, ‘Grown and Show’ area, ‘Incredible and Edible Pavilion, Home and Gifts, Food Market and a special ‘Great Norther Larder’ section. Pluto temporary structures were erected for individual exhibitors.
Nick Smith, Show Director for NEHS, said: “We worked with Neptunus early in the year to create an outdoor, Covid-safe event to replace our usual Spring Flower Show. At the time, restrictions were still in place and we were the first major gardening show to take place in 2021. We moved our Autumn Flower Show to a brand new location in the grounds of the stately home, Newby Hall, for 2021. This meant that we had to build an entire show village, including an enormous Grand Floral Pavilion. The support of the Neptunus team has been crucial to us to deliver a wonderful landmark event for Harrogate Flower Shows.”
A team of ten technicians took just seven days to build the temporary show ground. The two Harrogate shows attract around 100,000 visitors annually with over 1,000 exhibitors from across the UK. The Autumn event was held over three days September 17-19, 2021.
