Neptunus builds several structures at Bauma 2019
Assignment
Bauma is regarded as the world’s largest trade fair showcasing the very latest products and innovations of jumbo-sized machinery for the construction industry.
Bauma 2019, the 32nd edition of this high-profile event, saw a record-breaking audience of more than 620,000 visitors from more than 200 countries attend the seven-day long heavy machinery extravaganza. Around 3,700 exhibitors from 63 nations gathered at the Neue Messe München Exhibition Centre in Munich, ensuring Bauma 2019 was the biggest in the fair’s 65-year history.
Neptunus was once again appointed to supply temporary exhibition space to some of the leading global construction machinery brands such as Kobelco, Hitachi, Zoomlion and Case/IVECO.
Solution
An international 30-strong team of Neptunus technicians took just four weeks to build more than 5,500 square metres of temporary buildings for 13 different clients. Neptunus was able to showcase much of its own repertoire of temporary structures including state-of-the art Evolution II and Evolution IV two-storey buildings along with Alure Globe and Alu Hall ranges. Many of the temporary buildings incorporated mezzanines and terrace flooring – maximising the innovative space solutions and offering clients custom-built facilities to meet their specific requirements.
The complex build programme required a meticulously planned logistical operation with thousands of tons of equipment being delivered to site and coordinated to build 15 temporary buildings.
As well as constructing the exhibition structures, Neptunus was also responsible for heating and external graphics and banners on the temporary buildings.
Challenge
Bauma 2019 is staged at the famous Messe München which has 16 ultra-modern column free exhibitions halls covering 180,000 m² of exhibition space with a further 425.000 m² of outdoor space where much of the jumbo machinery was exhibited.
It is important that temporary structures blend in with the existing facilities already on the site.
Neptunus was able to swiftly supply and build a wide range of additional high-quality and clear-span temporary exhibition space to complement the superb permanent facilities.
Verdict
Bauma is an event where you can experience the high quality of Neptunus Structures. Dorrie Eilers, director of Neptunus: “It is always our pleasure to build several temporary structures for the exhibitors of Bauma. Our team is keen on the logistical challenge for this temporary exhibition village.”
